Labor Day weekend is odd to me as I’m not a current student anymore. I spent this long weekend visiting the boyfriend’s family in Milwaukee where we attended the Bristol Renaissance Festival. I’m planning on writing a review of this Ren Fest sometime in the near future. However, I was scrolling through A Geek Girl’s Guide where she posted about a “Back to Hogwarts” Tag which naturally I had to participate in.

Have to go shopping in Diagon Alley! What store do you go to first?

I had to google the name of this store, but I would first visit “Magical Menagerie” because I want an animal. Hermione had Crookshanks, Harry had Hedwig and I would also need an animal to cast spells on. I would probably buy both an owl and a cat because I can’t decide between the two.

You’re on the train! What are you getting from the trolley?

Pumpkin Pasties! I’m expecting they would taste like candy corn, but pumpkin flavored.

It’s time for the welcome feast! Which house table are you at?

Hufflepuff!

You get an elective this year! What will it be?

Defense Against the Dark Arts. It reminds me of taking a self defense class in the real world. I feel it’s naive to assume every witch and wizard will turn out good and in order to fight back against the darkness, students need to be educated.

You’ve got a break between classes! What will you be doing?

I would say either watching Quidditch practice or reading a book on the grass near Hogwarts.

You get to go to Hogsmeade this year! Where do you go first?

I would want to try Butterbeer and hang out with friends. I’m curious if it would be alcoholic or not?

You’re meeting up with friends to hang out! Where in the castle are you all going to chill?

I would say if it’s a nice day hanging out in the courtyard area right outside the entrance to Hogwarts. If the weather sucks, I would say bringing study materials and sitting at the long tables in the Great Hall.

The end of year exams are coming up. What test will you do the best at?

I want to say Defense Against the Dark Arts, but honestly I feel I could do really well in Potions. It seems like it’s a more science based class which I would prefer and do well at versus the History of Magic.
